I think my life has been reasonably boring, and it usually turns out that my life has been ten times more exciting than theirs. King puts a great deal of emphasis on reading.
I had only read one of his full length novels — The Dark Half — which I found to be okay. I grew up on a farm in the middle of bumfrilling Kansas, where a twenty foot antenna could only pull in three TV channels and one of those channels rolled most of the time. As King says, however, the only way to improve is to read more!
